Anxiety

I've got a goose bump last night when having told by my friend about selebgram's trend today. I'm not talking about the good ones obviously. I'm mentioning some teenagers whom instead trying to be mature in character, rather choose to spill emotions with a really childish manner. Let me say something about this matter. First, human blessed by having social sense that lead them to built norms. But, the thing is some people don't care enough about circumstances where they lived. They just care about their existence and their way of life. Being deviant is not always wrong but it must be blunder if it based on incomplete logic. Unfortunately, some selebgram make million excuses for their illogical deviance which then received and stamped by the followers as a cool attitude. Let's think then, whether being selfish and illogical are something cool?

Second, social media is not private, it's neither our friend nor our enemy. Social media is the thing technology give us for embracing the modern age, hopefully, in smart way. But again, some treat it as very personal space where they can share everything, literally EVERY SINGLE THING. Is that wrong? Not really until it was giving wrong idea to public. Some illogical deviance used to be covered by statements like "it's my life, not yours", "are you good enough to judge me?", "haters gonna be hate" or even the most angelic ones "I hope you did better than me". But, are those make senses? Nope. All just self-defense. Human is social being, it becomes naive to get irritate by people judging because of content that publicly shared; what goes around, comes back around.

The last matter, A trend is the mirror of public reality. Public reality is not built by one or two person means there is no single villain. There's a long chain involved. Let say in the case of social media usage by teenagers, there are technology itself that waiting to be used, family which supposed to be the basic source of character, environment and friends that naturally become wide and wider along the way, media which giving billions idea of life and so on. When some selebgram reflects deviance trend, where went wrong? Certainly all of them need to be considered.

As a closing, something comes to mind is an idea that "Our act should be worthwhile and if it can't be, at least don't harm other"

Scattered mind about value

Well, this gonna be a first note in 2016 or should I say the first casual writing after such a long time. I'm actually not that busy, however work still requiring energy especially when you do it in a hectic city. Having immersed in a pile of job task, I do realized that something is missing then it suddenly comes to mind for writing this note after my student asking me about brand value.
I'm not a brand specialist or even public relation practitioner but I can't keep off from that kind of term since my job require broad range of comprehensive communication understanding.
In short, I read an article in Forbes.com talking about how to build brand value and so on. The content is interesting for sure but the most attracted ones is when it mentioned "the valuable thing is scarce. not common. only available to a few". Simply but straight to the point of my consciousness although if I take that into an example, not all thing can fit in.

Imagine when we talk about family, some people do not take it for granted but some act in reverse. Just take the example when we are in teenage era, friend or let say lover seems more important than family because family is always there while we need to fight hard to catch or keep the attention of friend and lover. At that time, family is less valuable than another people in our life. But, time goes by and the one whom always there still is family. So, should I say that the love of family which is not scarce to the point of eternal is not valuable? I don't think so.

But, take another example. You are passing by a shop and finding a very gorgeous shoes. When you asked the stock, the keeper said it's the last one and she convince you that you can find it nowhere. You are startling and feel pressure to have it soon but the problem is it's too pricey. Then, you sadly decide to walk out but whenever you draw ahead the shop, you'll remember the shoes and imagine how beautiful you were if having that pair even when the shoes is not there anymore. So, is it acceptable for me to say the shoes is having a high value and even higher time by time? I think so.

In short, what I'm trying to say is value merely subjective. It may simply explained if it related to material things but it would be complicated if trying to describe the abstract ones. It turns important when we convince our heart to feel so and our brain to think so. Valuable thing is exist because of common things. Material value is concerned with what we want but immaterial ones take you to what you need. And nothing worth will take for granted since the most important thing is beyond the value.
