I've got a goose bump last night when having told by my friend about selebgram's trend today. I'm not talking about the good ones obviously. I'm mentioning some teenagers whom instead trying to be mature in character, rather choose to spill emotions with a really childish manner. Let me say something about this matter. First, human blessed by having social sense that lead them to built norms. But, the thing is some people don't care enough about circumstances where they lived. They just care about their existence and their way of life. Being deviant is not always wrong but it must be blunder if it based on incomplete logic. Unfortunately, some selebgram make million excuses for their illogical deviance which then received and stamped by the followers as a cool attitude. Let's think then, whether being selfish and illogical are something cool?
Second, social media is not private, it's neither our friend nor our enemy. Social media is the thing technology give us for embracing the modern age, hopefully, in smart way. But again, some treat it as very personal space where they can share everything, literally EVERY SINGLE THING. Is that wrong? Not really until it was giving wrong idea to public. Some illogical deviance used to be covered by statements like "it's my life, not yours", "are you good enough to judge me?", "haters gonna be hate" or even the most angelic ones "I hope you did better than me". But, are those make senses? Nope. All just self-defense. Human is social being, it becomes naive to get irritate by people judging because of content that publicly shared; what goes around, comes back around.
The last matter, A trend is the mirror of public reality. Public reality is not built by one or two person means there is no single villain. There's a long chain involved. Let say in the case of social media usage by teenagers, there are technology itself that waiting to be used, family which supposed to be the basic source of character, environment and friends that naturally become wide and wider along the way, media which giving billions idea of life and so on. When some selebgram reflects deviance trend, where went wrong? Certainly all of them need to be considered.
As a closing, something comes to mind is an idea that "Our act should be worthwhile and if it can't be, at least don't harm other"
